Kiki Kickback Peer Support Series - LGBTQ+ Student Center (Fall 2022 Semester)

You only need to register ONCE to attend any of our discussions.
NOTE #1: Sessions are for current CCNY/CUNY students ONLY
​NOTE #2: Discussions are NOT held every Wednesday. All discussions are held on these Wednesdays from 2PM-3PM:
Sept. 28 - Introductions
Oct. 12 - "Questioning" and "Coming-Out"
Oct. 26 - Intersectionality and LGBTQ+ Identities
Nov. 9 - "Queer Culture" and Chosen Family
Nov. 23 - Being LGBTQ+ and Navigating the Holiday Season
Dec 7 - Reflections, Future, and Feedback

Due to the open and online nature of this space, it is not private or confidential. Participants are encouraged to be respectful and mindful of each other and to practice discretion. This is a peer discussion group series; not group therapy.

Here are the group agreements:
-I will not disclose to anyone outside the group any information that may help identify another group member.
-I may disclose to others outside of the group the fact that I am a member and attending this space.
-I may also disclose personal information about myself with respect to my experience, including my personal reactions, feedback I have received from other members regarding myself, and any other personal information about myself such as new skill I learned or changes I've made.
-One mic
-Disagree respectfully
-Use “I” statements
-Questions are welcomed
-Sharing is encouraged
-Don't assume
-Everyone's voices should be heard with respect
-Feel free to take time off (log out/step out for a bit)

There are important limits of confidentiality to keep in mind for this group:
*If the group leaders suspect that you are a danger to yourself or other(s), or if the group leaders suspect child or elder abuse, we will have to get you help immediately, which may include informing our supervisors, other staff, and/or emergency services.
*Also, the group leaders will be consulting with supervisors about how things are going in the group to make sure we are being the best group leaders we can be.
